Plumbing and Rats

,Just recently I had an emergency call out to a ground floor flat in local sea side Town were the occupiers informed me they had just returned from a weeks holiday only to find rats in their flat.They showed me how they had gained entry into the flat, and to my supprise they had gnawed their way through the white plastic pan connector at the rear of the toilet pan.So once they had removed the little devils from the flat as a temporary fix they wrapped cling film around the pan connector.                               Most people think rats can come up through the toilet pan, thats why they leave the lid down on the toilet seat,but normally rats wont swim around the water seal in the pan. If the water seal in the pan has gone or the pan has been removed and the pipe has not been sealed then it is more likely rats will enter the building. In this case they could hear no movement in the flat and saw light through the pan connector so they decided to gnaw their way through and have a l
